Book 3, the final choice for this year is a historical fantasy novel by one of Free Spirit Liz's favourite Antipodean authors, Juliet Marillier.

Dreamer's Pool is the beginning of a trilogy (Blackthorn & Grim) but stands well on its own -- Liz can guarantee you'll be looking for the next instalment though!

It's a story of two amazing people who happen to begin the story in the same prison. Interwoven into their tale is the Fey, magic, royalty and corruption. It's a little darker than some historical fantasy, but this is an image of medieval Ireland that feels real and captivating.
